The cabin is in walking distance from Hookers Restaurant & Bar with great grill your own steaks and Live music almost every weekend. Please note that we put our dock in when the water level is normal (usually early June). We prefer to rent Saturday to Saturday from Memorial day to Labor Day. They’ll be pecking outside the windows in the heat of the day. Conveniently located to all the bluffs have to offer – 5 minutes from golf/ski at Devil’s Head and hiking at Parfrey’s Glen, 10 min to Devil’s Lake, 15 minutes to Lake Wisconsin and 30 minutes to the Dells. Feel free to bring your boat, we'll tell you where you can put in on Lake Wisconsin. Nicely appointed if you’d like to eat in and close to some good restaurants if you want to go out. We’ll give you a list of our favorites as well as other local tips. We have acres of woods as well as trails through wild flower prairie to enjoy. You can enjoy complete privacy in your own cabin but we live right next door and are happy to tell you about the local spots. The cabin has one large loft bedroom with 2 beds and another bedroom on the first floor with one. It has an open area encompassing the living room, dining room and kitchen. The heat is from a wood burning stove and air conditioning is an effective window unit in the loft bedroom. We use it as a hunting cabin during deer season and it's decorated with many deer skulls which have been bleached. We have wifi and a smart TV. You won't hear cars here but the animals won't respect quiet hours. My mother lives in this cabin for 6 weeks when she visits from AZ so we’ve tried to make it as lovely as possible so we can keep her longer. NO luck! But now we’re putting it up for vacation rental for the rest of the season. Other things to note... Our barn is near the cabin so we will be there caring for the critters daily. You can see the barn from the cabin but it's still tucked away in the woods.

Family room with futon leads out to the patio with gas fire pit/table for light conversation and morning coffee. Another full bath and laundry room are also located on the lower level. Family room has books, games and a projection tv with BlueRay player and is wi-fi capable. Back upstairs, we have the fully equipped eat-in kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and center island with stools to gather around and give helpful cooking tips to whoever’s making dinner…”Letting the brats sit in the beer before grilling will dry them out.” Whatever Nancy, whatever! Next to the kitchen is the living room with a gorgeous gas fireplace, vaulted ceiling and an incredible picture window with views of the river. Smart tv (Roku) above the fireplace has an antenna for local stations (doesn't work well) but is wi-fi capable for you to sign on with your various accounts – DISH On The Go, Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc . We do not have cable!! Outside we have a gas grill to throw those brats on along with a picnic table, lawn chairs and a bunch of yard games. Further out in the yard there’s a big fire pit to toast marshmallows over. Wood is available for purchase on the honor system.

Bring your boat because the launch is 10 feet off of the driveway. The river is loaded with sand bars that can be reached via boat, jetski, canoe or kayak. Bring your inner tubes so you can float off shore. There is also a place or two you can rent canoes or tubes from. Hookers Resort is on one side, Pourhouse Bar on the other. Just a ten minute drive to Fitzs, Luckys, Lakeside, and Thirsty Moose. All these places have food and live music in the summer months. In the winter months you have the radar runs and skiing at Cascade or Devils Head. There is a public park, basketball court and tennis court located 100 feet away. The Devils Lake Grand Cabin is an Amish built log cabin located next to the entrance of Devil’s Lake State Park, Wisconsin’s largest and busiest state park.
